I’m Celia Ruiz de Castilla, a Peruvian-Australian photographer based in Sydney. I specialise in documentary photography that explores resilience, labour, and everyday life. My camera has taken me to Bangladesh, where I’ve documented stories of child labour, waste pickers, shipyard workers, and rural communities — human experiences that deserve to be seen and remembered.
Curiosity about culture and travel has shaped my life and work. I’m driven by a desire to connect with people, witness different ways of living, and preserve those moments with honesty and care.
I capture scenes to share their emotional truth. To me, beauty is a feeling — something sparked by rare, fragile, or deeply moving experiences. It’s not about perfection or appearance. It’s about resonance.
